Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week 4th - 9th October 2021The organisers of Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week (WMHAW) are pleased to confirm that the 9th annual event will take place at Offington Church.

New initiative to prevent suicide launched in Adur and WorthingA new initiative, which aims to train hundreds of public-facing workers and volunteers in Adur and Worthing on how to spot the signs that someone is in crisis is launched on today to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.
A free 90-minute online training course has been designed for people who work or volunteer with the public, including car park attendants, volunteers at food banks and bar staff - those who are more likely to be in contact with someone who is considering suicide.

Exhibition of lockdown art by young people in Adur & Worthing comes to Colonnade HouseOver lockdown Apron supplied packs of free art resources to young people in Adur and Worthing, inviting them to make their mark on this moment in history.
An exhibition of the work was due to take place at Colonnade House but further lockdown measures have delayed this. So instead, Apron are displaying large scale prints of some of the works, alongside donated artworks, to share with passers by in the windows.

FREE Special Afternoon of Entertainment & Virtual Afternoon Tea at Three for World Mental Health DayOn Saturday 10th October (World Mental Health Day) people of Worthing are invited celebrate the end of Worthing’s first ever online Mental Health Awareness Week with a FREE special afternoon of Entertainment & Virtual Afternoon Tea at Three lived streamed to Facebook courtesy of The Glamour Club who are thrilled to be partnering with WMHAW for the Grand Finale!

“What better way to celebrate the end of a fantastic week than with a ‘Glamour Club Afternoon Tea at Three’.
Prepare yourselves for a treat fit for Kings & Queens and a great night out during the day.
We are bringing The Glamour Club Experience right into your own front room! With live music from the delightful Karen Etherington who will entertain us with our favourite songs from 40’s to 70’s.
So, dust down your finest clothes, prepare your own afternoon tea, set it upon your best crockery, switch on your computer and join in the fun.”

The aim of the Week is to challenge the stigma around mental health and to provide good quality information in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Throughout the week there will be sessions of promoting selfcare and resilience.
