Adur & Worthing Councils have launched an investigation after two of their contractors were caught up in an international data breach.Debt collection agencies Rundles and Jacobs have contacted the Councils to say that the data of 84 Adur and Worthing residents may have been accessed by a criminal gang as part of a cyber attack on businesses and organisations around the world.

A Worthing man who stole almost £140,000 from his disabled sister has been found guilty at court.
Graeme Brooker, 54, of Vale Avenue in Worthing, had power of attorney over his sister, Cheryl, who had been left physically and mentally impaired following a series of strokes.The court heard Brooker made direct transfers from his sister’s bank account to his own of up to £20,000 at a time, as well as monthly transfers of £1,050 disguised as payments such as ‘cleaner’, ‘gardener’ and ‘laundry/shopping’.

Sussex Police target and safeguard victims of domestic abuse during the men's football World Cup
Police in Sussex are targeting domestic abuse perpetrators and safeguarding their victims in the build-up to, and during, the men’s football World Cup. Data suggests instances of domestic abuse increase during football tournaments and around the festive season. In response, 49 domestic abuse suspects were arrested in three days of activity on November 15, 16 and 17 – the week before the start of the men’s football World Cup in Qatar.Read More
