Acorn stands up for Baby Loss Awareness Week

Worthing charity Acorn Pregnancy Counselling Centre is showing its support for this year’s Baby Loss Awareness Week with a display at the Co-op store in Cricketers Parade, Broadwater.

This year marks the 20th year of Baby Loss Awareness Week in the UK – a week for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together to remember and commemorate our much-loved and missed babies.

The week also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss; the importance that bereavement support plays in the ongoing bereavement journey; and of the vital work that is needed to improve pregnancy outcomes and to save babies’ lives.

Acorn often sees women coping with the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or after an abortion.  Acorn offers free counselling and emotional support, helping the woman, or family member, through their bereavement journey.

One client commented, “I feel so much lighter after the counselling and feel I am finally able to start letting go of the past. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to my counsellor to Acorn for our sessions, it is the best thing I have done for my state of mind.”

Come and visit the Acorn stand at the Co-op in Cricketer’s Parade, Broadwater, from 9 – 15 October. More information on Baby Loss Awareness week can be found on Acorn’s website
